This is the single most requested category we handle, and Google’s own summary of our reviews reflects that — plumbing comes up more than any other word customers use to describe the work. Faucets, toilets, disposals, sinks, supply lines, shower valves and shower doors.
Homes across Carrollton, Plano and Lewisville built through the seventies, eighties and nineties are now well past the service life of their original builder-grade fixtures. Cartridges wear, plastic supply lines go brittle, toilet flappers stop seating and quietly run thousands of gallons, and disposals seize. None of that needs a re-pipe. It needs the fixture dealt with properly.
Where we stop is worth being clear about. Fixture work, supply lines, valves and drains at the fixture are ours. Work inside the wall, gas lines, water heaters, sewer lines and anything requiring a licensed plumber under Texas rules is not — and if a job turns out to be that, we will tell you on the spot rather than opening a wall to find out.
Questions
Common questions
How much does it cost to replace a faucet?
The labour is fairly predictable; what moves the number is what is underneath. A faucet swap in a cabinet with working shut-off valves and accessible supply lines is straightforward. A faucet in a cabinet whose shut-offs have seized — common in homes with the original 1980s valves — means replacing those first. Send a photo of the underside of the sink and you will get an accurate number before anyone arrives.
My toilet runs constantly. Is that worth fixing?
Yes, quickly. A silently running toilet can waste well over a hundred gallons a day and it shows up on the water bill long before you hear it. The cause is almost always a worn flapper or a fill valve that is not shutting off, and both are inexpensive parts. It is one of the cheapest repairs with the fastest payback in a house.
Do you need a licensed plumber for this work?
For fixture-level work — faucets, toilets, disposals, sinks, shower doors, supply lines and valve trim — no. For work inside walls, water heaters, gas lines, sewer lines or repiping, yes, and that is licensed plumber territory. We are straight with you about which side of that line a job falls on, including when it means the work is not ours.
Can you install a garbage disposal I already bought?
Yes, and that is often the cheaper route. Bring your own unit and you are only paying for the installation — mounting, drain and dishwasher connection, electrical hookup to the existing switched outlet, and a leak test under running water before we leave.
Why does my sink drain slowly even after using drain cleaner?
Because chemical cleaner rarely clears the actual blockage — it usually bores a channel through it. The blockage is normally in the P-trap or just past it, and pulling and cleaning the trap fixes it properly. It also avoids the other problem with repeated chemical use, which is that it eats older pipe and gaskets and turns a slow drain into a leak.
